Emma and Ruth from Formation Physiotheraphy approached us to design and build a bespoke reception desk and work station for their new premises on Lisburn Road, Belfast.
The brief was clear: create a unique, functional, and modern desk that reflects their professional branding and makes a strong visual impact upon entering the space.
We chose to construct the reception desk using white melamine birch plywood, known for its durability and aesthetic appeal.
The layered plywood structure creates an eye-catching, contemporary look, while the melamine finish ensures ease of maintenance in a high-traffic area like a physiotherapy clinic.
The design process involved CNC cutting to achieve the precise curves that give the desk its sleek and flowing form, ensuring that the desk became both a focal point and a practical workspace.
The desk also incorporates subtle LED lighting, integrated within the shelving, to provide both functional illumination and a warm, inviting glow.
This lighting not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also improves the working environment for staff behind the desk, allowing for easy visibility and access to equipment and documents.
